Horizontal Display Fridges VF1000D – Straight Glass, for Cold Cuts, Dairy and Vacuum-Packed Meat

The VF1000D is the straight-front version of the VF1000 horizontal display fridge: same dimensions, same refrigeration unit, same equipment — only the glass differs. The straight line aligns cleanly with the counter and surrounding furniture, the flat surface wipes down quickly and introduces no visual distortion, and the horizontal top can display lightweight impulse products (sweets, confectionery, small items) right where customers queue. Professional equipment operating at +2/+8 °C with static cooling, manufactured by MODACO in lengths from 100 to 400 cm.

Suitable Products

  • Cold cuts: salami, ham, sausages, smoked products
  • Cheeses and dairy: yellow cheese, feta-style cheese, yoghurt, sour cream, butter
  • Vacuum-packed or pre-packaged meat from the supplier
  • Pre-packaged products: salads, ready meals, packaged semi-prepared foods
  • Other packaged food products stored at +2/+8 °C

Unsuitable Products

These display fridges operate with static cooling, in the range of +2/+8 °C, without forced ventilation and without humidity control. For this reason they are not intended for fresh unpackaged meat:

  • Fresh bulk meat displayed directly on trays
  • Minced meat
  • Offal and by-products
  • Unpackaged poultry
  • Fresh fish on ice

Fresh unpackaged meat requires a butcher shop display fridge with a lower and stable temperature, controlled ventilation and humidity, to prevent surface drying and to comply with the temperature limits imposed by veterinary and food safety legislation (Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 stipulates a maximum of +7 °C for domestic ungulate meat, +4 °C for poultry meat, +3 °C for offal and +2 °C for minced meat). A display fridge set in the +2/+8 °C range cannot guarantee these thresholds on a permanent basis.

Frequently asked questions

What products can I display in these fridges?+

Cold cuts, cheeses and dairy products, vacuum-packed or pre-packaged meat, and other packaged food items stored at +2/+8 °C.

Can I display fresh unpackaged meat?+

No. These display fridges use static cooling in the +2/+8 °C range, without humidity control. For bulk fresh meat, minced meat, offal or unpackaged poultry, a specialist butcher's display fridge is required. Contact us and we'll be happy to recommend the right solution.

What is the difference between static and ventilated cooling?+

Static cooling uses the natural circulation of cold air: it is quiet, energy-efficient and well suited to packaged products. Ventilated cooling distributes air evenly using a fan and is necessary where the temperature needs to be kept low and consistent throughout the cabinet, as is the case with fresh meat.

Why can unpackaged meat dry out in these units?+

In a display fridge without humidity control, the surface of unprotected meat dehydrates and changes colour. Packaged or vacuum-sealed products are not affected by this issue.

At what temperature does it operate?+

Between +2 and +8 °C, adjustable via the digital thermostat.

What sizes are available?+

Lengths from 100 to 400 cm, width 90 cm, useful display depth 55 cm and height 125 cm, adjustable to approximately 130 cm via the cabinet legs.

Do the display fridges have automatic defrost?+

Yes, all models in the range.

Can they be customised?+

Yes, made to order in 7–10 working days, with curved or straight glass and custom lengths on request.
